Location: Neither here...nor there		The WWEnd database has 2000 as the publication date for A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin. According to the author's website the correct publication date is 1999.

There seems to be some confusion on the publication date.  ISFDB has it as early as 1997 but Wikipedia/A Wiki of Ice and Fire have it as 1998 in the UK and 1999 in the US.  I updated it to 1998.  Thanks!
