Lovecraft Country

"Lovecraft Country" is arguably Matt Ruff's best book, and I loved "Fool On The Hill". Matt Ruff seems to get better with each book. This one has a bit of everything that Matt is known for; humor, fantasy, science fiction and gritty realism. It's all here.

What can a white man born in 1965 possibly know about racial discrimination in 1954 America? Enough to entertain and keep me turning pages, that's what! Matt tells a tale of a black family caught up in a struggle of power between factions of warlocks. Yes, warlocks, witches and black magic are real and quite potent in the world of this novel.

I cannot recommend this book enough. I simply loved it!
