I initially heard of Neuromancer after watching the first Matrix movie. I read again and again that Gibson doesn't care much for exposition and that it is very likely you will feel confused while reading Neuromancer , wonder if you have missed an important plot detail or an explanation about a character or location. All of that is true, and I confess I read a summary of the plot a few minutes after finishing the book to make sure I understood most of it. But really, all you need is to remind yourself to go with the flow, enjoy 'the ride' along with Case. That's when I became able to marvel at the beauty of a book that starts with "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel." . The world it describes is scary and pretty prophetic ,but what's amazing about Neuromancer is that it is as poetic and darkly beautiful as its beginning.
