Journals of the Plague Years

One of the better pandemic stories, written as a short novel. Spinrad set out to write a story encapsulating the AIDS epidemic of the 80's. Its controversial (veru much so at the time) topic kept it from being published by a big house and gaining wider acclaim. Still, it won a Hugo. Well worth the time to read it.
