This is a heartwarming story of redemption and love - and T.J. Klune seems to be a master of storytelling in that specific case. The "slowly falling in love" part is very heart felt, and the characters in the tea shop are vibrant and real.

However, the story itself is totally boring. And it doesn't help that the main character is a downright bastard who in very few pages sees the light and becomes a nice person. Yes, I understand that it was important for the redemption ark that he needs to be a not-very-nice person at the start - but he was, in a phrase - everything that is wrong with the world. And I could not help being reminded of his behaviour in chapter one.
