Joe Abercrombie is the shit. His stories grab you and pull you in and make each turned page an adventure. Best Served Cold is no exception. It is a stand alone novel but reaches back for details from The First Law series. You don't have to read The First Law series initially but it does enlighten you on the world that Best served Cold is set in.
