While I really enjoyed the book, I didn't like the cliffhanger ending. Nothing was wrapped up thus forcing you to read the third book. (I planned to do this anyway). The editor was terrible. wrong sentence structure, spelling errors, etc. Not Johnathan's fault but he should demand better from his publisher. It didn't really bother me but I could see where it would be distracting.
As far as the story...solid. Good horror with a twist on vampires, werewolves and their leadership. Roaches are creepy too!
