The Bear and The Nightingale

I've been going back to old 5-stars and rereading them to see if they still hold up. I think this might just be one of my favourite books of all time.

This is the perfect winter read, you will feel the cold creeping in and the warmth of the fire on your face. You are led into a very real historical world and then swept up in the folklore and fantasy of Vasya's adventures.

It is for the kids who grew up wishing they could spot the fae folk if only they looked hard enough. It is about growing up and facing your responsibilities but also about chasing your dreams.

This book is enchanting on every page and I'm so glad I sat down to read it again.
