Prince of Thorns

Jorg is so disillusioned with the world, he sees power as his for the taking. It's a brutal, dark story but I just can't help but have hope for him, even though I don't expect it to get better for him in the coming books.

Fun character work, the setting was a little two-dimensional but the magic, the hints at historical influences, and the pure hateful determination of the main character had me engrossed.
