Echo of Worlds

I put off reading this for so long because I knew I was going to love it. And I was both right and wrong in doing this. I subconsciously saved it for when I needed a book to sweep me in and it well and truly did. I loved it but part of me wishes that I had put off reading Infinity Gate so I could read one immediately after the other.

This duology is one that honestly could just be one really thick book. It picks up right where Infinity Gate left off and reads very much like the third act of a book. There isn’t as much world-building or adventure as the first but spends much more time preparing the characters for the final battle. What I loved is that it was able to do this without losing its sense of grandiosity or weakening its themes.

The characters were enthralling, the sense of infinity imposing, and the discussion of humanity and AI remarkable.
