The Feeding

Wait, I want a sequel! This scratched the post-apocalyptic vampire-zombie itch I didn't know I had. The story stands well on its own but the last chapter is open-ended enough that I hope we see more of Layla.

There were moments when the story felt a little shallow. The supporting characters don't have a lot of depth to them, the plot is full of action but a touch predictable, and the first third reads like a YA novel. Big however though, the vampire-zombies felt dangerous and the action was thrilling enough that once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. It has flavours of The Last of Us and I Am Legend and I would happily go exploring this gritty world again. Have to rescue Tricks after all!
