I love this story, the world she created, and how a hero can be internal while no less a hero. Ged's story arc (to fix what he set wrong) is also a journey, and in a way, a long coming of age.
The magic here is based on true names, which perfectly fits the story. Wizards (and witches) are both respected and feared, and often solo. Throughout Ged's journey, we see hints of so many other stories - some are returned to in later books, though this was originally written to be stand alone.
This is my first reread after Le Guin's passing, and it is probably overdue. This is also the first time I've tried to set down my thoughts in a review. It is hard to capture the magic I felt reading this in a few short paragraphs. I look forward to rereading the rest of the books soon.
