I read Jack Finney's Time and Again after having read The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which is an enthralling tale. Actually I heard an abridged audio-book version of Time and Again. I didn't know it had been abridged until I had finished it and the publisher told me so.

Time and Again follows a similar time-traveling premise as Connie Willis' Blackout and All Clear, and I enjoyed Finney's writing style more than Willis'. It's not a bad story, but it lacks the pressing apprehension of Body Snatchers, written a decade and a half earlier.

The book plods along, not unpleasant, but not exciting, until about three-fourths of the way through, then it builds to a good climax and it has a reasonably satisfying ending. All in all, not great but not bad.
