A great finish to the Starters series

Note: Some sequels read well as standalone novels. However, I would not say this is one of them, and I highly recommend reading Starters before reading Enders.

At the end of the first book, Starters, Callie believes that Prime Destinations has been destroyed, and that Metals (Starters who had the Renter chip implanted in their brains) are now safe. She just wants to find a way to remove the chip which is embedded in her brain without killing herself in the process.

But it turns out that the danger to the Metals has simply gone underground. The Old Man is still around -- and he is trying to round up all the Metals he can find, for use as something far more sinister than just rentals to Enders.

What's more, he has developed a way to access and control Callie through her chip while she is conscious, and he is tormenting her by constantly watching her activities and whispering taunts inside her head -- and forcing her to do horrendous things against her own volition...
