I'm sorry about this, I really am. I really wanted to like this but I just didn't and it feels like I'm the odd one out here. It's only the second William Gibson I've read (the first being Neuromancer, many years ago, which I thought was just okay).

There were a couple of nice ideas, but I found it hard to get any hooks into any of the characters or the narrative and I skittered across it feeling a bit like a small dog trying to traverse an ice-rink. The characters all felt paper thin, and the hope for some form of pay-off in the end just didn't happen for me.

It seems likely that the creations of William Gibson just aren't for me. I may try again at some point in the future, but for now I think we're done.
