A very welcome change from the other novels I read for the 1950s challenge. Does not feel as dated as many of them.

People - both alien and human - are mostly trying to do the right thing. Very little violence. A plausible conflict. An interesting vision of the future. Things to think about. An ambiguous (depressing? cautiously optimistic? hopeful?) ending.

Feels a bit slow at times, recommended otherwise.
