I hope Zoo City wins because she was kind enough to be interviewed by this site and her personal story was interesting. I’m sure many books get repeatedly rejected but it would nice to see her win after being rejected over and over and over until this quirky Angry Robot publisher took her on.

@Wintermute I certainly echo that. It would go nicely with the Clarke award. Saying that, the other books are also worthwhile contenders. I really enjoyed "The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms," albeit quite a dark narrative. But so was "Zoo City," all things considered. As far as interviews goes, if Dave allows me to, there may be a few more.

Zoo City is the only one of these that I’ve read, though I’m not quite done with it. I’m cheering for Lauren Beukes for that and for doing the interview. @Emil Jung: I’m certainly ready for more interviews as are most of our members, no doubt.

I’ve read three of them: Zoo City, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and Who Fears Death. I enjoyed reading all of them, but, out of those three, I hope Zoo City wins. The other half looks pretty interesting as well, though The Silent Land sounds kind of like a horror book. So many books to read, so little time!
