Random quote: "I believe the way toward mastery of any endeavor is to work toward simplicity; replace complex technology with knowledge. The more you know, the less you need. From my feeble attempts at simplifying my own life I've learned enough to know that should we have to, or choose to, live more simply, it won't be an impoverished life but one richer in all the ways that really matter." Sad to say another year of rejection beckons.

I always enjoy this challenge. It's great to read all of the critical gems and award winners, but it's also fun to just read a bunch of stuff. This is where I can post things like Johannes Cabal and Hellboy, things I enjoy that will never even sniff an award or list.

Five down this year, seven to go. I read the last three of the five Johannes Cabal novels, and two Hellboy novels (that makes seven of the ten). Up next, I'm thinking about some Ishbelle Bee and Eric Brown's Jani series.

Congratulations jontlaw. I'm far off completion, in a total reading slump at the moment.
