As a big Bond fan, I found this 2nd entry to The Laundry series much stronger than the first. By embracing the Bond tropes in a fond yet subtly satiric manner with the final subversion of Bondian themes, Stross really sucked me into his world. Add a fishy femme fatale and I was hooked.
