Although I've read a couple other Doctorow books, this one really sold me on his talents. It's interesting, fast-paced and reads like a cross between Ready Player One and 1984. While he carries the concept to an extreme, the ideas he brings to the forefront are very plausible in our world today. I work at a company where information security is crucial; shortly after reading this book, I had a situation very reminiscent of something that happens in the book. So although this one deals with a teenager on the run, these things are real and affect our daily life. Five stars, I'd call this one mandatory for today's world!
