The Snow Queen

This is a wonderful tale and an overall enjoyable read. Vinge impressively weaves an intricate tapestry of unlikely characters together through fate, intention and chance. The effect comes off as a well thought out master plan over the course of a lengthy novel. That said, this book is a bit tedious in some ways. It took me what felt like a long time to get through this, and at some points felt like work that could've benefited from additional editing. I found the author's attempts at language diversity through rearranging sentence structure a bit annoying. I'm still glad that I read it and can understand the high praise and awards that it won.
