I saw this book on Goodreads and knew I needed to drop everything and read it. Sometimes you know something is going to be up your alley and "Bloom" was most definitely a case of that for me. I'm really into books where everything is amazing and perfect until it's not. But you can see the holes and weirdness before the huge unmasking. I also really like romantic horror, as I find horror authors write the romance I want, without the parts I don't like (mostly just the over-the-topness I find from authors that traditionally write romance.) This is a romance story, but it's also a story of obsession, and losing your way because of love, and it had some really good anecdotes about relationships and problems within them (specifically with men.) It also had plain breathtaking prose with challenging wordplay and vocabulary that constantly had me going to Google for definitions. I plowed my way through this and LOVED the ending. If you don't read this book at least look up the last two sentences... FIRE. How does this book not have more recognition?
