Ever wonder what it would be like to watch the death and rebirth of the universe? If so, this story is for you.
This is the story of 50 people (25 men and 25 women) traveling to a distant planet for possible colonization. The trip is supposed to take a couple of years subjective shipboard time while 33 years will pass in "real" time (head hurting now?). However, things get interesting when the capability to decelerate the ship is busted and the only hope of survival is to continue accelerating as close to the speed of light, known as Tau Zero, as possible.
The author is known for his hard sci fi take in most of his books and this one is no different, so much so that the characters are not much more than filler for the overall story, except for the policeman / enforcer. He can get a little interesting at times.
