The Summer War

A fairytale through and through. I happily devoured this in a single day, reluctantly setting it down only when real life demanded my attention. This had all the classic elements of a fairytale, a princess locked in a tower, conniving fae, a revered knight, but still manages to feel so fresh in so short a tale.

The fae wilds in the Summer Lands are reminiscent of Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales and my only complaint is that I wanted to spend more time in the story. This novella is a scratch in the surface of the goings on in this world and I hope this is only the beginning of diving into the Summer Lands.
