The Works of Vermin

This was incredible. Heart-breaking but so, so moving. Full of art and creativity of every kind surrounded by giant bugs, what more could a girl ask for.

This was a rags-to-riches story toppled by revolution. A love story, a hate story, a how-could-you-do-that-to-me story and the quickest ship to unship whiplash I’ve ever had.

This is going to sound wild, but the setting gave me that same satisfied feeling I had exploring the Brambly Hedge books as a kid. I was imagining 1920s late-Victorian fantasy but set in a grimdark Brambly Hedge tree-stump and having the time of my life.
