Topper

Light fun from an author that passed too early. Spawned film and TV adaptations, and spawned a genre that I greatly enjoy.

Chapters are very episodic, alcohol is ever present. Cosmo grows some in the novel, but he relies on the ghosts to get him out of scrapes (which they largely got him into). Mrs. Topper plays a minor role in the beginning and end, regretting who she has become and to a point how she has treated her husband.

A sequel was released 6 years later. I may stumble across it, but doubt I'll seek it out. Next step - a Cary Grant film :)
