Have now read three novels (okay, this one is almost a novella) and one non-fiction from this author. 4 stars for the non-fiction and one of the novels. This one scores lower, but it is a fast read.
Rereading my previous reviews, I am reminded that I liked the worldbuilding, and I like that in this story also. Here California is set apart from America, a land that enslaves robots. There was a war, and we are in a rebuilding phase - but people gotta eat. Perhaps that's why it has the label cozy, though it isn't a good fit for that.
Looking forward to another novel from this author that has good worldbuilding AND plotlines - one more like The Terraformers.
