Kushiel's Dart

Most people who know me will know I'm not a huge fan of romantasy. For the most part, I find it less than engaging, and can rarely find the motivation to complete a series. But when it comes to Kushiel's Legacy, the first trilogy set in Jacqueline Carey's world of Terre d'Ange, I will never stop loving these books.

I first read this one shortly after it came out in the UK back in 2001, long before romantasy really became a thing, and I've read it a few times since then, and I have to say, it still holds my attention from the first word through to the final chapter. I'll admit I've not read the other two books in the trilogy quite as often, but not because they're bad; just because they're not as dear to me as this first one is.

If romantasy is your thing, and you're looking for something a little spicier than ACOTAR and the countless other series that the genre has spawned, I definitely urge you to give this one a try. I think you might be surprised.
