The prose is top-notch and Harrow does an excellent job of the alternate POV aspect of the novel, which is the most interesting part for me. But I just somehow could not get enthusiastic about yet another star-crossed lovers storyline (note that this is not really a criticism of the story itself, but rather just a reality of my own reading experiences -- it should not take away from the quality of this novel). Started out slowly, but had me really engaged at the 1/3 mark. I did have some trouble accepting how a single person could contrive and manipulate the timeline so expertly through the centuries in the character of Vivian. That was a little too much of a suspension of belief for me. I agree with the Hugo nomination, but not the winner status.
