Foundryside

Although I usually loathe stories involving the "plucky thief" who overextends due to their desperate situation and steals the wrong thing from the wrong people cliche, I absolutely loved this book. It's ok to use a cliche, when you do it really, really well and Bennett did that. I loved the intricate world, the variety of mostly lovable good guy characters, the easy to despise, multiple evil bad guys/gals, the logical and imaginative magic system, and the excellent plot pace.
