Dangerous Visions holds up pretty well as a collection of short stories. With the passage of time and out of context it is a little hard to see what was so daring about the stories presented. Most of the stories still manage to feel modern. There are quite a few classics and the author list is a who's who of great SF writers.

I didn't really care for the story Ellison's contributed to the collection, but his bombastic introductions are fun to read. Along with Damon Knight, Ellison is probably best known for his short fiction, so it is fitting that this is his best known work.
