Not bad. Not great, but not bad. It started well and looked like it could be interesting but then got bogged down in the whole love triangle thing. The Darkling is an interesting character and I really liked him. Mal and Alina on the other hand act like children.
This is a first book, and it had promise, so hopefully that promise will be rewarded in the next two books. It wasn't in this one.
