After reading The Emperor's Soul, which I loved, I decided to dive into this one, fully knowing that it would be quite a while before seris completion.
Well, the skill with which elements are added, the multiple levels of plots and clues that maje it a page turner with substance, and mainly the character development are sublime - Sanderson's skill at effortless exposition and setting expectations is [insert chain of superlatives]. Plus, he's pretty inventive with the magic & world building, and he clearly respects his readers.
I had no choice but to start reading the second book as soon as I had finished this one.
