While not nearly as epic in scale as American Gods, Anansi Boys is still a lot of fun. Fat Charlie Nancy is a quiet, unassuming Londonite who, while not happy in his life, is at least content. He's got a job that he hates but is good at and a fiance with a mother from Hell. When his long estranged father dies, Fat Charlie is shocked to find out he has a brother. When he decides to invite his new found sibling for a visit, Fat Charlie's life will be never be the same. Anansi Boys is one of Gaiman's more whimiscal novels, similar in feel to Stardust. Not the author's most profound work but still highly enjoyable. I listened to the audiobook performed by Lenny Henry (was knighted just this year [2015]) and he gave a masterful performance. If I hadn't known better I would have thought it was a full cast! The book is good but Henry's voice acting really brought it to life.
