I have to say that at first I thought this was a pretty weird story. All I knew when I started reading it was that it was considered a classic and I am a big Zelazny fan, particular the Amber series. The story was hard to get in to at first and the speaking style of the characters took some getting use to. Keeping track of the characters took some work as well. While I really enjoyed this book, I think I may get even more enjoyment out of a second or third read.
I will leave it to others to get in to the actual story line but I do wonder if this book is where Gene Roddenberry got the idea for the Prime Directive in Star Trek. This was a great read with great story line and great characters.
