The Iron Heel

Being by Jack London I was expecting an adventure story of a revolution but this was not really the case.

The first half of the novel is talky and didactic, alright, I suppose if you what to be beaten over the head with labor theory of value.

The second half is a Wellsian future history of the class struggle with a lot of tell and not much show. The final twenty pages describing the abortive first revolution and the destruction of Chicago are what I had expected the rest of the novel to be.

Disappointing.
