Medalon

Disappointing, and kind of all over the place.

I'd seen Fallon recommended in various places, and since this book was conveniently available to me, I thought I'd give it a try. Up until quite close to the end I was still thinking I might continue with the series, even though it had been a bit of a mixed bag, but ultimately it descended into a series of captures and escapes, punctuated by plot-induced stupidity, and completely lost me. When your own character later wonders what he was thinking when he came up with that nonsensical plan and walked into an obvious trap, then I think there are probably some issues with the way the story is working out.

It wasn't this book in particular that was recommended to me, so I am going to give the author a second chance, but I don't think this is a strong start.
