NOMINATED FOR A WORLD FANTASY AWARD. Death at the Blue Elephant is the first story collection by the respected and multiple award winning Australian writer and editor Janeen Webb. She is a recipient of the World Fantasy Award, the Peter MacNamara SF Achievement Award, the Australian Aurealis Award, and is a three-time winner of the Ditmar Award. In her introduction to this book, Pamela Sargent describes these stories as evoking a "combination of suspenseful anticipation, nervous apprehension, and total absorption in something far removed from my own experience". This novelette originally appeared in the anthology Synergy SF: New Science Fiction (2004), edited by George Zebrowski. It can also be found in the anthology Year's Best SF 10 (2005), edited by David G. Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer. The story is inclued in the collection Death at the Blue Elephant (2016).

Despite not having been published outside of Australia, Dreaming Down-Under won the 1999 World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology, and stories from its pages have appeared in many Year's Best anthologies. Now we in this hemisphere can enjoy this excellent anthology without a round-the-globe trip.
