This short story started out as your traditional post-apocalyptic story. In a society that saw it's share of killing and murder after a solar flare with a devastating Electro-Magnetic Pulse, one enclave finds it no longer has the stomach for killing. To punish murderers, regardless of the reason, the murder victim is strapped to the back of the killer. The killer has to wear the body until they die or the body rots and falls off them. Wow that is a horrific punishment, and lets face it, one hell of a great premise for a story.

The problem with this story is that it veers into this weird fantasy realm towards the end. It is shocking, but I'm not sure if it's in a good way.
