A ridiculous, old scifi book. Yes, it is complete and utter nonsense--but who cares, just go along for the ride. This was written in a day and age when imagination trumped early theorizations. Could this book even be modernized? Heck no. It is just that much nonsense. But, I liked it. HG Wells is a great story teller and writes in such a way that belief can be suspended so that the adventure can carry on. The ideas and mechanics employed to describe his vision work ok enough for me. He was a smart guy and even though nearly everything is outdated, that's ok.
