Imagine my surprise, thinking this book would be about an astronomical phenomenon. Instead, it concerns an actor hired to pose as a politician (reminiscent of the 1990s movie "Dave"). This was Heinlein's first Hugo winner. I'm not sure I would put it in that class -- I'm partial to The Moon is a Harsh Mistress -- but it's a fun and VERY quick read, with only a splash of the political commentary that populates many of Heinlein's later work. Honor, integrity, duty, and self-denial all come through in the story, with a generally positive perspective on what politics can be. Maybe we need more stories like this.
