Difficult book to judge, on the one hand it is now hopelessly dated but on the other hand it is quite an imaginative journey. Somewhat reminiscent of the works of Jules Verne, this book tells the journey of two man from earth to the moon. This they do in a sort of anti-gravity bubble and on (or rather in) the moon they meet Selenites. And just like in Gulliver's Travels it ends with a social commentary of the human species and his love of war. So I agree with the fact that it belongs in the canon of science fiction but readers should certainly be aware of its age.
