There are a lot of missing Jack Vance books. The Demon Prince series is a classic: The Star King, The Killing Machine, The Palace of Love, The Face and The Book of Dreams. The Planet of Adventure series: City of the Chasch, Servants of the Wankh (he didn't know what this meant in British English), The Dirdir and The Pnume. The Alastor series: Trullion - Alastor 2262, Marune - Alastor 933, and Wyst - Alastor 1716. Also the Durdane series: The Anome, The Brave Frre Men, and The Asutra.
But which one are you planning to read for the Challenge? Surely that's the important factor here, rather than just loading our poor Admin with extra work? 
I bought a load of Vance over Christmas, in the SFGateway sale, and already had the complete Lyonesse waiting on my Kindle, but I haven't decided which one of his I'm going to read, yet. (Not on the site and not in your list: Araminta Station, The Blue World.) |

Your comment saddens me, since I also want to load up on Vance (and lots of other books) from the SF Gateway, but most of them can't be purchased in the U.S. Why don't these authors/agents/publishers want my money? (Not a question I expect anyone here to be able to answer!)
Of the Vance that I have read, The Languages of Pao is a favorite...

| @DrNeafrio. This is a wonderful site and I hope we are not burning out the people behind the scenes but like, I suspect, a lot of SF fans I am a compulsive listophile and completist.
A lot of the Grand Masters greatest works were published before the Hugos and Nebulas started and so it's inevitable that a lot is going to be missing.
I haven't read the Cadwal series of which Araminta Station is the first I will have to add it to my list!. The Blue World is also one I haven't read. If you are into Vance I would recommend The Demon Princes series - his best in my estimation.

I'll typically add a bunch of books by the same author together because it's easier to do the data entry that way so no worries. I didn't get any books added last weekend because of family and work etc. but I did get a ton more book covers together. That's a mindless activity that I really enjoy. So much great cover art out there! We're total completists around here too so it's all gonna get in there eventually. I get a little freaked out when I discover that a series I thought we had complete turns out to have 2 more books that we missed! So, for instance, you'll be seeing Fortress of Dragons and Fortress of Ice by C. J. Cherryh pop in there soon. I'll troll through the series pages just to find those missing books sometimes. |

I've chosen some of the grand masters for my challenge and was browsing through others. Anyway, I noticed a few books missing which I thought I would suggest.
Firstly, Ray Bradbury, who was a seminal SF author when it came to develop my interest in the genre and in reading generally at an early age. Some suggested books:
Death is a Lonely Business
Golden Apples of the Sun
A Graveyard for Lunatics
Quicker Than the Eye
The October Country
The Halloween Tree
Farewell Summer (which is a sort of sequel to Dandelion Wine)
In fact now that I've looked it up, I've just discovered that Bradbury has 4 books in his 'Green Town' setting which are:

2. Farewell Summer
3. Something Wicked This Way Comes
4. Summer Morning, Summer Night

| Yep - more Vance is needed, lots more!!
Also, perhaps Damon Knight's last book, Humpty Dumpty: An Oval (1996) can be added. It's a great book, and a hugely surprising book for anyone expecting just a last-gasp effort from a played-out old-timer. Instead, it's a surreal tour de force - nothing at all like what you might expect from an old-school stalwart. I highly recommend it. |

These are mostly Grand Master books but also mixed in are a bunch of Overlooked books, email requests and some new and old stuff that we thought was of interest. I don't have time to seperate these out so here they are in one big lump. There are lots from Philip Jose Farmer, Harry Harrison and Ray Bradbury (among others) in this list. OK, OK, I know they are not grandmaster books, but you are missing 3 books (or at least related books) from one of my favorite series of all time. Jack Chalker's Well World Series. While technically a different story arc than the original series, they were published between "Twilight at the Well of Souls" and "The Sea is Full of Stars". So, when you get around to it, they at least completes the stories in this very, very interesting universe. Michael |

| Speaking of Aldiss, I just remembered that Aldiss is another author who spent some time writing some non-genre "adult" books. His The Hand-Reared Boy and A Soldier Erect were terrific fun, at least at the youngish age that I read them. Some other Grand Master books that deserve to be added are: - The Image of the Beast by Philip Jose Farmer (Exorcism 1)
- Blown by Philip Jose Farmer (Exorcism 2)
- Expanded Universe by Robert A. Heinlein (collection)
- The Visitors by Clifford D. Simak
- At Winter's End by Robert Silverberg
- Born With the Dead by Robert Silverberg
- The Fantasy Hall of Fame edited by Robert Silverberg (The SF Hall of Fame is already in the database)
- Cugel's Saga by Jack Vance (Dying Earth 3)
- Rhialto the Marvellous by Jack Vance (Dying Earth 4)
- Galactic Effectuator by Jack Vance
- All About Emily by Connie Willis
You can never have enough Silverberg! These are just some missing "good stuff" I've read - it doesn't include books that are merely average... There are also some other deserving collections that I haven't mentioned because they (sadly!) seem to have been out of print for a while. The Farmer books are actually far, FAR stronger stuff than The Lovers (1961), the book that caused so much controversy when it was released, probably because because they were published in the permissive late 60s.
