Biography
Rae Giana Rashad writes literary fiction rooted in Texas, often layered with historical and speculative elements that explore the legacies we carry across generations.
Her debut novel, The Blueprint, was a finalist for the 2025 PEN Open Book Award and the Writer’s League of Texas Bool Award. Her work centers the interior lives of Black women and girls, bearing witness to stories often overlooked or unheard.
Sweet Water, her blues novel, is forthcoming from Harper in 2027. She lives in Dallas with her family.
