Biography

Hayden Trenholm is a Canadian author, playwright, and editor. In addition to authoring six stage plays, he wrote and acted in over forty five interactive murder mysteries performed across western Canada and the United States.

Trenholm's short fiction has appeared in On Spec, TransVersions, Tesseracts6, Neo-Opsis, Challenging Destiny, Talebones, Gaslight Grimoire and on CBC radio. His long and short fiction has been nominated numerous times for the Prix Aurora Award, winning on several of those occasions. He has edited two anthologies of short science fiction.

In December 2012, Trenholm purchased Bundoran Press and became its managing editor.

Over the years, Hayden has taught writing at the University of Calgary, the Alexandra Writing Centre, several public libraries, and at the University of Northern British Columbia. He is a frequent participant at science fiction conventions across Canada, and in 2012 was Author Guest of Honour at CanCon in Ottawa. He returned to CanCon as Editor Guest of Honour in 2013. This January he will be teaching a two-day Master Class in writing in Yellowknife. In June he will return to Yellowknife as a guest of the NorthWords writing festival.

He lives with his wife and fellow writer, Elizabeth, in Ottawa where he provides policy advice to the Senator for the Northwest Territories.
