Uber User Posts: 794 | Yes, I loved the Guardian Challenge last year. But that was only 7 with this Challenge you can go to 12.

Veteran Posts: 143 Location: Alief, TX | Last year's challenge stopped at seven because it started in May, which made sense. Most challenges accept a one book per month standard. This year, I'm also taking the Genre Challenge. It started late last year, and runs through June. They want ten books. I chose Gothic Horror, and seven of my ten are also on the Guardian list, so no-brainer here. It's such a great list anyway. Completely simple to add a few more very old or foreign titles to make 12 for this challenge, and fill the "never nominated" requirement. No list has more books that pre-date any award this site supports.

Uber User Posts: 794 | Updated for Reading Levels. You can go from Arranger to Indexer to Cataloguer (is this even a word? well it is now) to full blown Organizer.

Uber User Posts: 613 Location: New Zealand | Yay, finished. The Golden Age was my final book for this challenge. An interesting book and not remotely what I was expecting. I love it when that happens. This challenge took a while because I had to restart it when I thought I was half-way through, because I read the rules wrong. Oh well, got there in the end.

Veteran Posts: 144 Location: Fort Myers, Florida USA | I was surprised to see that I had finished this challenge. I went to increase my reading level, but found I was already at the max, which after all is only 12. Then I realized that I had done the lesser whuffie. I hadn't really looked into the maximum whuffie. The one list I've been kinda sorta trying to make progress in is Locus Best SF Novels of All-Time, 9because just by happenstance I had read a majority of them and it's not a long list anyway) but I only have 6.5 left to complete that list and so it wouldn't get the job done. I could see if I'm making any max whuffie headway for the 1 on 12 lists one, but that would mean being less lazy. *sigh*

Veteran Posts: 144 Location: Fort Myers, Florida USA | Okay, so I got off my lazy butt (I didnt actually. I was sitting on it) and made a list (this is Listomania, after all) for the maximum whuffie. I'm going for 1 book from each of twelve lists. I had to disqualify one book - It had won an award. And another I haven't finished yet. The books I had listed, not counting the disqualified one represented 19 lists, of WWEnd's current complement of 29 lists. But the goal is to have twelve different books from twelve different lists. So now I do have ten different books on ten different lists, one book on each list. Maximum Whuffie here I come! Edited by spectru 2015-05-18 9:25 AM

Veteran Posts: 144 Location: Fort Myers, Florida USA | I have completed the challenge, 12 books from 12 lists. I wasn't specifically reading books selected to complete the challenge, and with many books on multiple lists, the book bookkeeping was the hard part.
