Search Worlds Without End

Three times Alan MacDougall had passed through the strange Gates in the ruined Scottish tower to find himself in the worlds of Lucifer, where the demon-gods lived on. There, unknown to them, Ahriman ruled as lieutenant to the Prince of Evil--and sought to entrap Alan into serving his Master's foul plots of conquest.

Now the fourth Gate waited. Alan's only friend in Lucifer's twisted lands, the Bard Taliesin, had already passed it. But Alan lingered beside his beloved Elspeth. Then he stepped through.

This time, as he and Taliesin made their way through the realms of the fourth land, the dark magics of forbidden mysteries were shown Alan, but nothing he could use against Ahriman's determined effort to force Alan to lead Lucifer's legion to universal domination.

When Alan sought to flee back through the Gate, he found that it had vanished. For him and Taliesin, there was now no escape!

Tartarus was a land created by Lucifer for the Daughters of Lilith. But now those who lived there in eternal boredom were the men and gods who had died on Earth fourteen centuries before. Alan MacDougall had entered Tartarus through a gate in an ancient Scottish Tower. After escaping, he had vowed never to return. But now something was drawing him back. Again he came to the tower and gain he opened a gate - this time the second one. That, as he soon discovered, was a mistake.

The second portal did not lead to Tartarus, but to the dark and ugly land of Ochren, where the gods of the Underworld ruled over the hopeless suffering of the dead. And while he and his friend Taliesin sought to escape the evil plots of those gods, Alan knew that Ahriman, the lieutenant of Lucifer, meant to entrap him in some long planned scheme from which there seemed no possible escape!

Isle of the Demon Gods - Once again, Alan MacDougall was forced to return to the worlds of Lucifer to save his beloved Elspeth. But this time, when he entered the third gate from the ruined tower, he found the Isle of Scath far different from the other two worlds he had seen. There were worlds for the former Celtic gods. But Scath was a place ruled by the rebellious demons who had been the gods of ancient Sumeria, Chaldea, and Babylon. There Scathach, legendary Sorceress of Scath, vied for control with the demon Amaruduk. Scathach welcomed MacDougall to her monstrous castle and revealed, under a spell, all his (real or illusory) past lives.

But then the evil Celtic gods, who had previously vowed to kill MacDougall, arrived in a magic boat. Scathach invited them into her castle. And after that, all became chaos as MacDougall sought desperately to escape back to his own world.
