Hi, can you please add a couple of Russian ladies:
Ludmilla Petrushevskaya's There Once Lived a Woman Who Tried to Kill Her Neighbor's Baby: Scary Fairy Tales
and
Yana Vagner's To the Lake.
I don't know about the latter - maybe its English publisher is too small or too indie for this site, but it has been translated into ten or so languages and has got some awards and nominations. I haven't read it myself yet, but I have heard only good things from those who have.

Um, well, I don't have it yet. I have requested it as an ILL from my local library. They haven't told me 'no' yet.

And, WorldCat shows that a bunch of libraries have it available.

Hello and happy 2017! Would you please be so kind as to add Flashing Swords! 4: Barbarians and Black Magicians, an anthology edited by the lauded Lin Carter? This happened to fall into my lap and I'm excited about reading it this year. Also, would you please add another anthology, The Mammoth Book of the End of the World, edited by Mike Ashley? Happy New Year! Would you please consider adding Christmas Days by Jeanette Winterson. It's pitched as mainstream fiction but it's an easy read-alike to Miracle by Connie Willis with equally creepy, wonderful, and strange stories. Thanks!

These are in. I put the whole Flashing Swords series in for you.

And no, not even close to being obscure. I normally have a window open with two tabs. And this provides all the data I need to enter a book. If I have to go out to five, six or seven tabs to get a one sentence synopsis and a jpeg of the cover, that's obscure.

Wolf Winter - Cecilia Ekback (it would fit magical realism, set in a place where the real world and spirit world coincide and mingle - includes spirits and demons)



The info in this one makes it seem like historical fiction, something in a gothic tone. So if you're sure it's got magical realism elements, ok, then, it's in. I stuck it in horror since gothic is usually associated that way.

I've started a book entitled I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. It has aliens and telekinesis so it qualifies for the SF genre. I checked with WWEnd to see if there were any reviews. There aren't. The book isn't listed. Neither is Pittacus Lore, who apparently has published quite a few books in this series. I was surprised.


This seven book series has found it's way in. The authorship is listed under the House Name Pittacus Lore.
