Random quote: "The way I see it, being dead is not terribly far off from being on a cruise ship. Most of your time is spent lying on your back. The brain has shut down. The flesh begins to soften. Nothing much new happens, and nothing is expected of you." ― Mary Roach, Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers

I was looking through the Genre-Lit Flicks list today and I noticed that the movie Zombie, directed by Lucio Fulci in the 1970s appears to be listed as an adaptation of the book Zombie by Joyce Carol Oates from 1995. If anyone could adapt a book written in the future I'm sure it would be Fulci, but I don't think that is what happened in this case. :-)
