Random quote: Even the past is now no longer and the future is now not yet; In that not yet there is still some consolation, it is not here, but it will come. But what will we do when the future is no longer? How different is a future that is not yet from that which is no longer? How different that absence is. The first is full of promise, the second an apocalypse. -- Gaustine, Notes on the End of Time -- Georgi Gospodinov (Time Shelter)

I've recently read my first books from China Mi?ville and Annalee Newitz. The Last Days of New Paris and Autonomous, respectively. I can tell that, from just one read each so far, they will be numbered among my favorites. Some thoughts are in my reviews.

I finished Autonomous last month and enjoyed it too. Try Perdido Street station or The Scar for some great world building from China Mieville.
